Narxoz College Students Attend the Almaty Open ATP 250 International Tennis Tournament

Students of the Economic College of Narxoz University attended the Almaty Open, the only ATP 250 tournament in the CIS and one of the most significant sporting events of the year in Kazakhstan. The competition took place from 19 to 25 October 2026 at Almaty Arena, with total prize money exceeding USD 1 million.

The tournament brought together some of the world’s leading tennis players, including Kazakhstan’s No. 1 Alexander Bublik, Daniil Medvedev and Karen Khachanov of Russia, and Nikoloz Basilashvili of Georgia. The event held special meaning for Kazakhstani fans: national team veteran Mikhail Kukushkin announced it as the final tournament of his professional career. Alexander Bublik reached the semifinals. Daniil Medvedev won the title for the second year in a row, defeating Nikoloz Basilashvili in the final.

Our students watched world-class professionals compete live, experienced the atmosphere of elite sport, and came away with vivid impressions. Such outings are an integral part of the college’s extracurricular programme. We strive to ensure that student life extends beyond the classroom. Exposure to major international events broadens students’ horizons, fosters an interest in a healthy lifestyle, and shows what can be achieved through discipline and hard work.

The Economic College of Narxoz University extends its sincere gratitude to Narxoz University and the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation for giving the college’s students the opportunity to attend the Almaty Open ATP 250 international tournament.

Narxoz College highly values your attention to young people and your contribution to promoting sport and a healthy lifestyle among students. Initiatives like this inspire our students, broaden their horizons, and support their well-rounded development.
